Question

Are these allowed in db drag... or is it considered cheating ?

are you talking about things such as accumatches? If so then yes they are allowed however just as a note I tried some in order to get my MTX RFLs down to 0.5ohms on my MMATS D300HCs and while they did work very well I did some testing and found that if I wired the subs to half ohm on one amp I was 0.7db louder than if I used an accumatch to get the load from 2ohms to 0.5ohm on one amp.

Really eh ?

I guess its not surprising to see losses through all that copper... since my amp is 1ohm stable and subs can only run down to 1ohm I was thinking about trying one of these...

I havent tested yet but I bet my impedance has got to be over 10ohm at resonance... figured a custom made transformer might be a good way to get er down under 1ohm for maximum output at my resonant frequency....

Id probably have to mod the amp so protection circuit can be turned off before it will work, though... could be dangerous...
