Was looking to break 150 this year but so far no can do. Was woundering if anyone out there had any ideas on how to get from 148.6 to over 150. I'm runing an eclipse 54040 w/8volt preout, one xs50 running two frist gen 15L7s at 1ohm, in kicker spec 3.00cu/ft vented boxes, largest batt I can fit up front and gel cell in rear w/1fard cap, 1/0 power and ground all the way. Oh ya it's in a 91 CRX playing at 52 hz. Anyone with any ideas?????

Yuli can give you lots more help than I ever could on this subject but I would suggest loosing the 1F cap for spl runs.

The boxes are homemade, built to kicker spec for there 3.00 cu/ft vented boxes. Hits the loudest playing 52 hz. Boxes are made from 3/4 mdf.

ya caps are not good for spl really... at least i have been told. they slow the amount of current down from your battery to your amplifier. iu think? anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

The reason that a cap is no good for SPL is because it discharges faster then the mic can read, after that you electrical system is always trying to play catch up. Hence what Curtis is saying about slowing power to your amplifier.

i run a cap and it jumps me point .8db
It is an SPL cap by accucap. The difference is that when you burp after the cap drains into your amp it just lets the current from the batt pass through and doesn't suck from your amps trying to recarge like normal caps. You are looking at 600 bucks for a 1.0 F Accucap SPL Capacitor. But it's definatley worth it.
A way you might be able to jump db's is to run 2/0 through your car instead of 1 ought and all gold plated terminals.
have you dynamatted your car??
set your vent from venting to recurculate....sometimes .1 there
but the biggest thing is your box
try The crx box.!! good luck man.
