my hearing is so screwed. My boss gets mad at me cause I am always going "what". But it's my own fault 160db system and all the constant partying I do. Those factors probably didnt help. Anyone else have the ringing all the time?

i think were all guilty of this my ears ring constantly
i can only hear it in a quiet room
i wear earplugs now with tools and loud stereo's
after i subject my ear to loud noise it take weeks for the ringing to lower
p.s. and im an old guy to 40 years of age
i also farmed when i was a kid and worked at a automotive machine shop with no hearing protection before getting into car audio

Hmmm....Having been involved in rock bands as a teenager, a dedicated concert-goer for 3 decades and a car audio junkie for almost as long, I can tell my hearing has been affected by all that exposure to loud sound. Fortunately for me, it only seems to be the right ear that has suffered the most damage, and I can trace that back to way too many concerts at Maple Leaf Gardens sitting in centre ice golds with the stage to my right. When I realized what had happened (thanks to a hearing test for a job I had at the time), I made a conscious effort to avoid any further problems. For those of you who read and casually dismiss all the warning notes manufacturers put on the outside of the packaging for most car audio equipment these days, they're not kidding folks.....abuse your ears and they will never recover. Having said that, I am still occasionally guilty of cranking my system way louder than I should...but only in small doses...

Dave, I remember that blast you got....it was loud from where I was standing, and that was a good 20' or so away.... Glad to hear the ears are still working OK.

Enough of me rambling on....keep the volume under control, and you will still be able to hear many years from now...

My ears have been ringing since birth (or at least long as I can remember) and sometimes it drives me nuts. I can't sleep without a fan because of it
At least I can't blame it on my stereo lol

</font>
That is so annoying, once I concentrate on it I can't sleep at all unless I take some sleeping pills or turn on soft music.

</font>
I'm not alone with the fan thing! I sometimes get the urge to cruise at a 150dB's, it takes it's toll though, for a few hours after that it sounds like my ears are blocked.

Heck ya. Thats why I am moving over to Mmats from PG gear.

Besides, I dont have to listen to the kids whine. Or the wife for that matter.

Its not my hearing i am worried about losing but my mind. I swear it has to do with the bad influence around this place?

heh,heh
