true enough... finalized anyways..I know you will go to finals with APX's cause your amp & box work better with that sub so why not take the 0.58 thats given to you

hahaha yeah yeah the dust caps...speaking of which I need BIG dust caps for my sub aprox 5-6" diameter ... the lighter the better..man I might just have to go to XS cargo to buy their cheapest 15" sub with big dust cap to put on my 12" sub..hehehe

So long as the amp wasn't running out of current at .25ohm you will have a 3db gain in power over .5ohm...

In the real world this could translate to only a couple tenths of a db, but a gain of 1 or even 2 db wouldn't surprise me either....

this topic has gone the stupid way pretty fast.

apx is louder.

D3 wont gain 1.6db

nothing can change that

questin, how do u have DB gain in power??? i didnt think amplifier output power was measured in decibles.

Yuli he is right...go back to school... if you really want to know your amplifier gain in decibels then use the formula I have writen below, subs or amps can be figured out in decibels...but this is a only in theory, not real world. but is usefull to aproximate lets say you bought an amp that is hmmm a D3 and puts out 3000WATTS RMS...and you want to see how much you will gain from your old amp without using an SPL meter of sorts...and your old amp was only 1500 WATTS RMS ... to calculate the DB gain find the ratio of new amp VS old amp

10log((NEW AMP)/(OLD AMP))= 10log(3000/1500) =10log(2) = 3 which is the answer in decibels

try it some time and see if it actually works for you

HELL NA THAT formula was not even close to producing an actualy real life output. u book worms need to drop out of school and do some real life testing

and yes i know how to do logs

peter how much time do u actually spend/waste reading up those formulas? i bet u would be even loder if u just test and test instead of read and test.
