The ATOMIC SHOWDOWN...APX vs. Quantum

LMAO- some of you guys.
Just for the record- doubling cone area or power gives a 3db gain.. doubling both or 4x of one gives a 6db gain... 6db gain is twice the sound pressure...
I think I did a pretty good job of relating that theory to possible real world results...
current clipping with the reduced load, power compression, and the difference in resonance and impedance are the real world factors involved in actual spl gain...
If the amp wasn't current clipping, I would expect anywhere from no gain at all to more then 2db as I said earlier...

doubling cone and power wont give u 6 db. try it. like i said. u have to double BOTH to get 3db. this is taking into account that your sub is already at its max. when its maxeed out and u add more power u gonna gain nothing, right? but when u add another sub with another amp (and probably add more space like peter said) u will get your 3 db.
this is not a theory, this how it works in my own jeep. im talking all max values here. ofcourse when u have a 1200rms sub and u send 500 watts to it u will hit an X amount of db, but when u give it another 500 watts u might gain alot. BUT thats not really relavant. u got to max this sub out AND ONLY THEN add power to it to see if u gonna get that 3 db. otherwise your theory is really pointless, u can add any ammount of power to any sub thats still goin and gain. thats not even really a theory, thats just common sense.

ok so doubling the power gives you 3 db and doubling the subs gives you another 3 db, now what will happen if i double the vehicles? Thats got to give me at least 3-6 more db!
Damn people settle down you all win this internet fight, and you know what that makes you!
