audible distance

If you just had the subs in ur car and u backed up like 40 feet and walked around the car, certain points are going to sound louder than others depending on how the waves bounce around. With my dads home sysmtem, the loudest point of the room is at the entrance arch. Or with ur head 5" from the Ports.

ya guys I'm talking theoreticaly, not practical, why I mentioned with trunk OPEN, its not very loud with trunk CLOSED from the outside

wiltshire, u probably wont get a humane response u want on here for the reasons being:

1. everyone will tell how rude it is to have your music loud etc.
2. no one really knows the answer
3. it depends on alot of things
4. i will take a guess from my own experiment and i'd have to say about 2 city blocks for me.

if you want loud from far away, you'd have to go with a sealed box, the conflicting wavelengths from a ported box tend to cancel each other out once you're farther away than the first few wavelengths of the tuning frequency of the port. Conversely, a sealed box presents no conflicting wave patterns to begin with, and will be louder from far away. this is doubly true if you're playing with the trunk open.
