thanks boombox fo the info. Right then I can cross the w7 of the list. thanks that’s the answers I was after just thoughts will do me.
Do you think if I ran a solo x at 3400rms would it out do 3 15 L7 running max?
The solo x will sit in a 5cft ported or a 6cft sealed.
3x 15”L7 will go in a 4.5 sealed or a 9cft ported or what?

The 3 L7 have over 2x the cone area of a 18”solo x.

Then the 3 L7 will have 3 coils and 3 magnets powering it will that make a big difference compared to one massive motor of the 18” solo?

If you have a sub setup tuned for car usage, it will usually sound shitty for watching movies. IE: a car setup with a ported box will usually be tuned to 30-40hz... too high for home theatres. You want between 15-25hz for the most part.

If you want that kinda dual purpose, you'll need to run a largish sealed box so you don't lose the low end, and not run subs that are meant for booming (IE: L7's).

I still don’t get winISD you change the size of the box from 6 to 2 cubic foot and the response is not that noticeable, does that mean it will still work as good?

Also I changed the parameters of the port severely and no change how come?

Bugger it I’ll design it for car use and when I use it for home theater man s18x will still pound so freakin hard even in the wrong environment

i think for the price your goin to be spending you can get a suck home system and a decent car system instead of the trouble of mixing the two together
