Currently using WINisd to design a 6.8 cu.ft. ported box for by golf. I plan on using the box just for SPL. Is WINisd reliable? or is there something much better online? I know TermPro is a great program anyone know were i can get it.

If you are looking for the cream of the crop, it's LEAP.

This program is used by industry professionals all around the world. It is very powerful, but it costs.

More information can be had here:

u want to use a program to DESIGN a box for spl? i dont think any program can help u design a good spl box, u just go to use your own head and play with it man. I havent used any programs to design any of my boxes, instead i invested in a mic and just make diff boxes and test, test, test and then test some more. there are lot of things u can do to an spl box that no software would ever help to think of.

thats all great and done(we have done the same too) but this process gets a little more difficult when you don't have a mic and don't have a work space. truly if you need a box for spl it can take years to perfect a box. but if you just want a simple box that is gonna go in the back of you car, then a simple design might be the way to go. Maybe state what car you have and i'm sure that guys will post what they have tried. if you have access to a mic and work space. then basically start the process and make the appropriate changes to the box until your score is high enough as you want.
we use Bass Box Pro http://www.ht-audio.com/bassbox.htm

Thanks for the info. I know that box tuning frequency is independant of the woofer. I just like playing with parameters and checking out the response curves and trying to get the best results. I have a 96 golf hatch back. And am trying to get best results

From my experience, using some sort of box design software is the best way to start. Tunning a caninet while inside a car can be more dificult then it appears. Trust you software and go from there.

Hay Tinted, what are you using for equipment? I can see what scores you are getting but I'm not sure what you are using to get them.

Good luck with the box.

I use a program just to see what a box would be tuned to, so basically the tuning formula and thats it.

I use earthquake amps and all sorts of diff subs, DD's Inhumans, and shockers mostly.
