Intermediate Class
Maximum of two batteries can be used
Unlimited farad capacitance
Amplification will be limited to a maximum of ONE channels per loudspeaker
Strappable and/or stacked amplifiers will be counted as TWO channels
Competitors will be further divided based on the cone area of all woofers in their system with a diameter of 8" or larger. The TWO divisions are as follows:
0-300 sq"
301 600 sq"
*Note* woofer diameters are manufacturers listed size not the actual external diameter of the loudspeaker
Other Regulations
box height may not exceed 21 inches from the vehicle floor to the top of the box
box has to be located in the cargo area of the vehicle
amplifiers and capacitors may be mounted to the back of rear seats
amplifiers under seats are permitted
3rd row seats may be removed from the vehicle to allow for more room for box and other equipment
2nd row seats may be folded down AND/OR removed from the vehicle
subwoofer enclosures may not be placed atop of rear seats, however, rear seats DO NOT need to be fully functional
front seats may not be removed from the vehicle
front seats may be moved, folded and other wise adjusted at competitors discretion
battery running voltage may not exceed 15 volts
aftermarket alternators and batteries are allowed
battery must be installed in the stock location
secondary battery may be installed anywhere behind the B-Pillar
a battcap will be counted as a battery
competitors may use a podium to operate a head unit
SPL Measurement
competitor goes through a 30 second run where that competitor's peak spl is measured
microphone can be placed anywhere on the windshield
windows may not be open
doors may not be open
trunk/hatch and hood of the vehicle may not be open
competitors are permitted to use any recording materials at their disposal

might want to include that..vehicle MAY be running during testing...
and the battery thing...I run 8 6volt batts right now in my hatch area of the rabbit..no battery upfront. and the car works great...it's called a distro block
and yes I do have 1/0 running power and ground to the front..as most more serious competitors do nowadays

why would vehicles not be runing???? someone please point this out to me?? why does that need to be specified. do u listen to your stereo and drive around with the car off???
u guys want to have a rule that says u can have the batteries either in the trunk or under the hood?

Well.. to be honest.
Last year when I ran IASCA shows I'd usually do my runs with the car off.
I didn't want to kill the alternator and I could usually win with the car off
I still think it should say you need a battery in the stock location though.
The last thing you need are people bringing in huge batteries that don't even fit their cars.

i was thinkin one battery in stock location..
ok who wants what??
one battery in OEM spot or both batteries can be in the trunk??
lets make the rules to accomodate as many ppl as possible
