In all honesty though... how many times are you going to get a person that runs both batteries in their trunk?
You were talking about "who runs with their car off" ... well who has a system in their car that isn't attached to their alternator?
Without it the whole system is really only good for comps because you have to continually hook a charger up to it.

Intermediate Class
Maximum of two batteries can be used
No more than total of 5 farads of capacitance can be used
Amplification will be limited to a maximum of ONE channels per loudspeaker
Strappable and/or stacked amplifiers will be counted as TWO channels
Two bridged channels of an A/B class amp will be counted as one mono channel
Competitors will be further divided based on the cone area of all woofers in their system with a diameter of 8" or larger. The TWO divisions are as follows:
0-300 sq"
301 600 sq"
*Note* woofer diameters are manufacturers listed size not the actual external diameter of the loudspeaker
Other Regulations
box height may not exceed 21 inches from the vehicle floor to the top of the box
box has to be located in the cargo area of the vehicle
amplifiers and capacitors may be mounted to the back of rear seats
amplifiers under seats are permitted
3rd row seats may be removed from the vehicle to allow for more room for box and other equipment
2nd row seats may be folded down AND/OR removed from the vehicle
subwoofer enclosures may not be placed atop of rear seats, however, rear seats DO NOT need to be fully functional
front seats may not be removed from the vehicle
front seats may be moved, folded and other wise adjusted at competitors discretion
battery running voltage may not exceed 15 volts
aftermarket alternators and batteries are allowed
primary battery must be installed in the stock location
secondary battery may be installed anywhere behind the B-Pillar
a battcap will be counted as a battery
battcaps rated at more than 800 amps of capacitance are not allowed
competitors may use a podium to operate a head unit
SPL Measurement
competitor goes through a 30 second run where that competitor's peak spl is measured
microphone can be placed anywhere on the windshield
windows may not be open
doors may not be open
trunk/hatch and hood of the vehicle may not be open
competitors are permitted to use any recording materials at their disposal
