The completely unofficial CCA XSCargo buildoff!
Well I got really excited when I read Buffdaddy's thread here!
I've wanted to do a budget SPL buildoff for a while now.
So here are the guidelines:
</font>
These aren't set in stone so if you guys have any suggestions please let me have them.
In the end though, the rules are going to be based on what will be cheapest, easiest, and allow us to have the most fun!
There will be no prizes unless someone chooses to donate something. If there are prize donations I won't announce them until the end. For now all we've got is recognition from your fellow CCA geeks. (for the love of god I hope no one is pathetic enough to try and cheat!)
There will be 2 classes/awards. One for the loudest and one for the most imaginative box. That way if you can't get to a meter you can still "win" for box design. We'll need pics though!
I'm hoping people will post pics and detail about how their builds are going.
I'd also like a list of people that are going to join in. If there isn't enough interest (ie, I'm the only one that wants to do this) then I'll just delete this thread and hope no one laughs at me
Also... we're going to need a time limit on this, so please offer suggestions on how long you think would be acceptable.

I've wanted to do a budget SPL buildoff for a while now.
So here are the guidelines:
</font>
- All products must be purchased at XS Cargo. Just about everyone has one in town so it should be easy. Prices are based on what the web site says. If you get an extra deal it won't count.</font>
- The limit for the budget is $200 before tax.
This is done because not all provinces have the same tax rate.</font> - The $200 is for amps/subs. All wiring, your HU, and the wood/box supplies don't count.</font>
- Get an spl reading from a Termlab system. Hopefuly we can get a list of people in various areas willing to meter for others. People in the Ottawa area can PM me and I'll be glad to meet up with them.</font>
- Must be in a "stock" vehicle. I don't see you buying an amp that needs a 2nd battery for this sort of system, so 1 battery please. Stock interior. You get the idea, no extreme vehicles. *looks at Martin*</font>

I took a peek and spent a good 1/2hr going through all sorts of different gear combo's seeing what I could use.
There are a bunch of different 10's, 12's, and even a 15 you could use.
At at least a good 4-5 different amps. What else do you want?
If we get enough people wanting $250 that's fine by me, but I prefer $200.
