JordyO run straight power wire from your battery into the deck's power. voltage drop can be the reason for your problem. also try to play a diff frequency.

defro thats what u would think, wouldnt u?
this could still be the voltage drop. obviously it wouldnt skip if its out of the car or placed somewhere flat b/c it's NOT SHAKING. however when it's in the dash it's much easier to get it to skip if u add voltage drop.

Chances are better than the average bear that the resonant frequency of the laser sled is seeing the same resonant frequency that is present in the dash. If the amplitude of that signal is high enough, skippity skip skip, to me it sounds like the head unit may be too well mounted, thus coupling with the surrounding area which is resonating away like your other half's vibrator. This is probably why when you release the deck from the cage that it does not skip. Voltage issue, really doubt it but it is still worth looking into.

Well I just popped it out of the cage about 1/2 an inch and the skipping stopped. Ran fine for the whole show like that.
For the people interested... my highest score of the day was a 146.4.
Won my class with a 146.2 in the finals.
I was up against Chris Wrobel (god I hope I spelt that right).
He actually his a 146.6 earlier in the day but something messed up on him and he was in the 145 range in the final run.
Thanks again for the help everyone!
