The only problem with the RF marine decks is that they have a wired remote. Which is a no-no in the street class.

So they're out of the question.

The RFX9220M is listed as having a wireless remote.

Wow... I just checked their site and you're absolutely right.

I got a brochure from a show on Saturday though and it said that the remotes were wired.

Good to know, thanks

Jordy just borrow some decks and see what their effect is, I had a pioneer 8600, and an Alpine 9831, and they both sucked *** for spl (for me I'm talking about). Bought a Panasonic, and nothing since, this thing is solid.

Hehe... the funny part is that I HAVE a Panasonic.

I was thinking of trying a Pioneer or something.

So far it works just fine with it sticking out of the dash about 1", so I'll just go with that for now.

If I decide to get really serious I'll pick up a marine deck.

Looks like MB Quarts no longer sells HU's though, so I'll have to find the one from RF.

^ Yeah that is funny! I guess it is just certain decks in certain situations don't preform as well as others.

i had that exact problem in my pathy. any hard bass notes would make the deck skip. when it was out and sittin on my lap it was fine. i sent it to eclipse but they couldnt find anythin wrong. i finaly found the problem after runnin standalone 10awg ground/power.

the ground prong on the coupler (harness) going INTO my deck was broken and not makin a secure ground. when the deck was out, the wires weren't all bundled so it played fine. t

try playin just radio stations with a lot of bass (ie 103.5) and see if it skips. i found that because the deck wasnt using the power to spin/read the cd, it wouldnt skip with the fm tuner.

also check the wiring harness (asuming you have one) i was told that if there is even some dirt on eithe the power/remote/ground prongs it can cause power loss. pullin your deck out might make it more secure.

i know its annoying i put up with it for 4.5 months before i found the problem, hope you find what it is soon.
