"DB Drag CD Only" ... Question
#11
My first comp I used my cellphone via the AUX jack. Second show I made a CD from the same mp3 files, gained at least 2dB, so I know better now.
I have an older mp3 player that has good volume, before the politically correct parents lobbied against hearing damage from headphones.

I'm only putting out about 1500 rms anyways. my electrical is really in need up an upgrade so I would be surprised if its even that much. besides, we can always just compare scores to see how much I beat you by regardless of class

He asked about a 3000w amp turned down to produce 2000w only. Just because a source unit has the capability of being used in a 12v environment does not mean is designed to be used in one. The question isnt the source media being mp3 the question is the source unit being the ipod. CD, Cassette, thumbdrive are source media which do nothing but store information. The ipod would be considered more along the lines of a walkman, portable cd player, that kind of thing. Just becaue i can plug my walkman into my decks aux input and use it does not mean its legal to use or meant for a 12v environment.

you're not made for a 12 volt environment Don, you're not made for a 12 volt environment!
don't mean to beat a dead horse, but what about dvd decks? or using your phone via bluetooth, which according to new laws in ontario is the only thing you're allowed to use in your vehicle?

what exactly is the reason for not allowing amps >2kw when everything is supposedly clamped every run? I must have missed it in another thread.
just seems rather odd to me that anyone would care about ratings if power is double checked, unless I'm wrong in my assumption that power is checked every run. just curious.
