Is this dB Drag Legal??
I found this and was thinking it could be fun to play with...if nothing else for experimentation....But is it worth SERIOUSLY looking at??
Here's the complete pce.....
If your amplifier is capable of running in dual mode or mono, and is configured to run mono by using the left channel positive and the right channel negative outputs, then the diagram to switch between stereo and mono to the same pair of speakers (mostly woofers) is as shown below. Remember this will decrease the impedance by 1/2 and in theory double the power output of the amplifier. Be sure to check the specifications of your amplifier first.

It's for the lazy guy who doesn't want to rewire subs before a competition.
I tried it in a previous vehicle before, i think you get some serious limitations through the relay when your pushing major power to it.
It worked better without it.

Right now I'm looking at a pair of dual 1's,meaning I could run the pair at one ohm...In theroy, with this relay setup,I could get the .5 ohm power out of the amp...
As far as the conductor rule, doesnt it depend on the class you run?and even then, what is deemed as a condudtor?from amp?or from sub?or would each wire in the setup shown be considered a conductor....
Like I say it was something I had thought about tinkering with...if nothing else one day when I had nothing else doing just for my own curiousty sake...
Thanks Nathan for that little tid bit about trying it....kinda has me thinking again..lol....
But it still stands..is it dB Drag legal? Here again, curiosity has the better of me....
