That's current flow and electron flow.

thanks fusion, but I will admit the EQ amps do not come alive until after 2 ohms mono.

ok, at 4 ohm that amp is probalby not even doing 800 watts.

that is actually a 1 ohm amp, not 2 ohm as the ratings say.

I've been running Earthquake for 4 years now.Driving with them EVEYDAY and I have it loud....I have NEVER had my amps clip.....Everyone out there knows me and knows what I listen to it like.
Maybe by chance you could of just got a BAD amp, This Does happen every now and then.
I know we has a bad PHD 10000 and the company had NO problems just giving us a new one.So maybe you should look into that.

I bought it so it will pound harder than my RF right now which is running at 900W @ 4ohms, and be able to handle a 2ohm mono load when I get a second sub and still put out 1500W to each.

I care what voltage comes out of the amp, because voltage is what drives the current through the coil, and makes the speaker move.

If you're familiar with ohms law, you'll know V^2/OHMS=WATTS.
This is not negotiable, this is a law of physics.

You can take two amps and measure their voltage output (preferrably with a load) and determine roughly which one is more powerful than the other.

Whether or not it's stable down to a specific ohm level and can put out the required amps to match the volts without burning out, is another story.

50v*50v/4ohms=625W (12.5 AMPS) - 1 SUB
63v*63v/4ohms=992.25W (15.75 AMPS) - 1 SUB
50v*50v/2ohms=1250W (25 AMPS) - 2 SUBS (625W each)

Regardless of voltage measurements, it just isn't as loud as my RF amp and won't go louder without clipping or distoring at the peaks of the wave enough to make it start sounding ugly..

I'm sure the Earthquake would do better with a low impedance load...

damn, that fosgate amp must be the best, cause if you load it down to 2 ohms u'd get 63*63/2=1984.5w
and down to 1 ohm it'll be 3969w

wow, i must be doing something wrong for sure lol

You are doing something wrong, because if you had read my earlier post, you'd also know that the RF amp power supply can't deliver the amount of current into a 2 (31.5A) or 1 ohm (63A) load at that voltage... Otherwise it would.

whats wrong is trying to calculate power in an open ac circuit, that theory only works for dc circuit
