hey Mike, my noobish friend. Dont worry about power, getting power first and doing everything else from there is not the right way of going about it.
That would be like going from end to beggining.

what you need to do first is upgrade your electrical. nice power and ground wires, a few runs from front to back and a nice spl battery. then get some flared ports and try 2 or 3 boxes. with 1000 watts u should be able to get to 145-146 relatively easy with good electrical and a proper box.

From that point you add better subs and power, maybe more power and ground wires as well. with more testing and about 3k watts of power i can see that thing do 149-150 in Street A no problems.

If i could do 151 in my jeep with a single 10 and one nice amp I dont see why you cant do that in yours. But please take my advice - you must beef up your electrical before you start throwing power at your set up, with a crappy electrical many things will go wrong. You wont gain any spl, you will blow up amps and you will blow up subs. Basically all the testing will be useless. Your truck can get loud, you just need to do it the right way.

Hi Mike,

I was looking thru the forums and saw you wanted to put a wall in your explorer. Did you ever get in doing this? I have a 2003 explorer and want to put 2 15” in it. I like the wall look and I think it is better for saving space at the back. I want to run it at 32hz. Do you think this would work out? Wall- Subs facing front and port facing front.

I never got around to trying it, I'm sure it would work though. I don't think you would get the best sound quality out of it though, mine was going to be strictly for spl. Give it a shot, let me know how it turns out.
