sub back is crap for spl....sub up, forward or to either side works well.

Side firing boxes will require different internal work than sub up port back in my experiences.

ports to the side even works decently with a little playing around.

there is a million box placements that work good in explorers, except firing anything forward..... try building a rectangular box with ports on the end then you can fire subs and ports every which way
