Extreme 1 in a Swift???
#1
Hey I was wondering if it was possible to get Maximum wavelengths for 2 15's in a 1990 suzuki swift. I was planning on doing an extreme 1 setup in it just cause I can get one for free.does any-1 have experience in a swift, or do you generally need the airspace a van or SUV provides, any feedback would be great

You could.
A 4dr swift would be best.
It would be tight for equiptment space but it could work.
Measure the door and tell use what the widest point it is.
BTW. Forget about wavelengths, it's useless.

Thanx, But am still not to sure what kind of vehicle i'll go for. right now I have a 91 civic doing 144.5 certified with only $700 in XS cargo equipment. next year is the big upgrade to 2 RE 15's and 2 4000d's, but the future isn't known as in the the extreme 2 set-up

Doesnt't wavelengths come into play when trying to get the rear wave to meet the front wave at a given point to create a big bang, I'm really just guessing, but makes sense....no??
And the rear wave is being faster which is why you port on drivers side...yes?
I just wanted to find out about the length cause I think it could be around 12-20 feet depending on sub choice, which would be hard in a 2 door swift, but not so hard in a van.
Any Ideas?................

you seem to have the right idea and be on the right track..I dont have enough time right now to explain it in detail.. but I will say use 1/4 wave and a higher frequency will have a shorter wavelength... in a swift it should be aprox 74 Hz for a 4 door and 68-70 for a 2 door..if I remember correctly..I did a 4 door about 8 years ago ... this will not be changed by the subwoofers you chose...but the different subwooferss may play better at the higher frequencies... so if you do chose the swift look to a sub that is better for higher frequencies...one that will have a higher FS and 2-3 spiders as with RE (you mentioned them being a choice)

Ya thats makes sense,.....I think I will pick up the swift and start planning out the install.I'll build it to Extreme 2 specs.....but as im on a limited budget I wont be a major contender for at least 2-3 yrs to go against RipRock or Shadow. but in the meantime I'll be running my little civic......Thanks for your input it helped in my decision to big in a small car... will post pics as I progress!!!!!!
