Jordy thanks for backing me up!!

The hole is bigger than it looks

it could not be any bigger b/c of all the stuff on the other side, such as hoses and mechanical parts.

You don't "get it" so just leave us SPL guys alone.

We don't go in to the SQ section and start complaining about your installs, so why do it to us? If you don't like what we do, or how we do it, please just keep it to yourself.
What is there to complain about? An SQ guy 'usually' takes some pride in his installation and wants to do a clean and safe job. Do SPL guys TRY to make it look all hacked and ghetto? I'm almost thinking they do. Why would it have been so difficult to drill 8 holes in the firewall so each wire could enter through it and each have a grommet or split loom it and silicone it? Why does it have to be hacked to crap with a jigsaw or whatever other device you like to use? I suppose the termination at the battery posts can work, even though having a protective cover looks pretty much impossible so have fun working in the engine bay with anything metal. Would it be really difficult to have a piece of 3/8" thick copper flat stock drilled for the terminal post and then 8 more holes for the cables to bolt to?

I guess I can understand why the sub boxes are always bare MDF and cut with a jigsaw, because so many are built just to try out and then tossed out for another. But the wiring stuff......that seems to be a bit more permanent so why not give it bit more effort other than 30 min. of ghetto labor?
