Has anyone ever tried.....
B&W uses that on their $30K + home audio speakers, it suspossed to reduce that amount of noisiness that the air makes as the ports produce the very low end frequencies. Sure is a great idea, but that is a whole big ball of wax that requires a LOT of knowledge. would Tim or Paul know? There is a home audio GURU here in Calgary, I can ask him if nobody else knows.

Lessy more or less answered it. A venturi will take a flow of air and increase it's velocity while lowering it's pressure. After the venturi though the velocity slows and the pressure increases again. Barring friction losses the net change is zero.
