hey guys, i was wonderin if you have any suggestions on makin a 2001 civic coupe louder. i was at a cspl show last week (in orangeville) and hit a larger number than i thought i would but unfortunatly i was put in a class where i was clearly out gunned. 1 12" vs. 2 15".. i hit a 139.9 before the show and a 138.9 avg for the show. but guys were hittin 145+ in my category. im not lookin for first place. just some tips on maybe how to make it louder?

 

tune higher. your box was 4cf@ 38hz
find the res frequency of your car and tune the box to that frequency.or slightly below

 

what style is your box...if it it's slot ported...sit the box on the passenger with the ports pointin towards the drivers side of the car...it worked better for my friend with his trunk car. if it's ported...1 port, is best, but 2 slot ports..doesn't work all that bad. facing the subs at the back of the trunk is another way to try it, put them about..6 inches from the back part of the trunk. hope it all works well.

 

why you were put in that class is because of your amp. im in class 1, one 12 kaption with a 300 rms rockford 301 amp, and im hitting avg 139.05. So either a bigger box or smaller amp.

 

go with a wall of 4x 15"

 

I was hitting 149's with a Kaption 12 last year in a trunk car

I'm pretty sure 145's is possible, just need to work on it, thats all.
