Hey Everyone!!
Hey Guys...Aaron here...Ya know?8Trackboy...lol....
Since the move of the board and since the my own move,I kinda lost track of things on here...including my username and whatnot, but I finally got this one to work...But I promise,no more "Comrade" stuff like I did with this ID before...
Anyway.....Been busy as all hell getting ready to build for this year....and last night pretty much everything came together...I just need to assemble it now....
Anyway, here's some pics to get you going with...there will be more as the build progresses here in the next week or so....

Oh...No big deal huh??Whats this in the next room??

Oh yeah....and....

And does anyone recognize this coffee table??You'll see it in a new home....hopefully soon...

The 12" is my roomies and I have another 18" in the closet to the left in the pic....
and there's more....

Any questions??
All going well,Team Darkside will comprise of at least 2 vehicles...and possibly 3...and all in different classes....
dB Drag 2006...Here WE come!!!

Holy crap, that's a lotta wood!
Hope you've got a big pail of motivation there somewhere too... I've been sitting on enough wood and the ports and plans for a new box for months now and just haven't gotten "around to it"... meh......
Although I did bolt in a 140 amp alternator just the other day... Wow what a HUGE difference that makes! It's only 35 amps bigger than my old one, so I sure didn't expect such a vast improvement, but it is. Still running at 2 ohms though, so when I bridge 'em down to 1 ohm I should be back where I was before, looking for more juice. Hopefully there's a big indoor event this year and I can get some lokies again
ANYway (man I can ramble sometimes), looks great Aaron, hope to see some nice cabinetry comin' outta there! You should finish off the old NW Cavalier box and lay some glass in it, make it a fish tank... One of these weekends I'll find some time to come on over and hang out a bit...

ALRIGHT!!
Fairly productive day today...
Got the battery in and the van running..

Removed the upper hing from the sliding door, which gives me about 3-4 inches extra height to build...(sort of seen here in this pic...the hinge was on the front upper corner of the door)

Got the windows blacked out....

Got the seats out...

Got the saw outside....

and got the floor of the encosure built...

I would have went further but it got kinda chilly,so I called it quits for the night....All going well,I'll be back at it in the AM...worse case I work on it next week while I'm in transistion to the new job...I'll have 5 days to build...
But I'm going to try to get the sides and maybe the back done tommorow...
Anyway...Here's some more pics of the days progress....Hopefully more tommorow...

and don't forget to wear your hardhat in construction areas...

So here's some pics from the little bit I did the other day...Would have gone farther, but needed longer screws to assemble the panels and my drill batteries went dead...
Here's side panel A set in place for fitting...

The back right after gluing and screwing....

The back in place for fitting...

Woo!!Thats a close fit I'd say...Maybe 1/4" off the door...

Some left overs for future uses...

And the final inside measurements...

UPDATE:
WE HAVE A BOX!!
A box that doesnt let me close the sliding door....lol.....
We got the main stucture built(top, bottom, sides and back)....We had to hammer some metal around the door to make it slide...oh..and remove the sliding door all together...But its in there...
Just need to angle off the one edge(I hope thats all)and we should be good to start anchoring, building the innards, bondoing, resining, and painting the rest...
It sits a little further back than I had hoped, but other than that and the one angle that needs to be cut in,the thing is a nice tight fit.
I have some pics, but I'm too bagged to download em right now...so tommorow...

Ok...weather finally straightened out enough for me to get a little work done...and payday so got some supplies too...
I started by getting the box straight and somewhat centred...to do that I had to notch about 1/2 inch on the top passenger corner so it would JUST clear...
Seen here the drivers side of the box...if you look carefully it sits just behind the seatbelt...

After that was in place I spray foamed across the top of the sliding door and set the weather stripping into it...Its almost air tight now...
I then went on to spray foam the leading lower edge to seal it up and made a block off board for the top and then sealed the rest of the way with spray foam...

Thats about all I got done this evening, but tommorow will be a big day...If all goes well I should have a crew of 8 SPLers over to help get this thing going and to start on my roomies S10 No Wall setup....So if everyone shows, the weather holds out and everyone gets drunk enough, we should have some rough test runs done by the end of the day....unless someone drinks too much beer and passes out....then we'll just have to box him in...LOL...
Anyway,I'll have more pics tommorow...Some of you might recognize a couple of the faces...
