Ideal box for 12" Kove Armageddon Z

Right now i have the sub in a 3 cu ft box with a slot port tune to 32 hz. I am running a Hifonics bx1500d amp whichis rated at 1000 wrms. The problem is that it just doesnt seem to be hitting like it should. Any suggestions for this novice audio enthusiast?

I cant really say if I dont know what your system constitutes. List your system equipment and its wiring configuration. There is no reason that HiFonics amp shouldn't rattle your teeth...

Sub hooked up in phase? Maybe try raising the tuning frequency of the box? The last box I built was tuned to a similiar frequency, had nice low end in my car, but not much punch. I raised the tuning up, and it all worked a lot nicer in my car, at least. Hatchback or sedan?

I drive a Jeep Cherokee with stock alt and a fresh battery. The wiring is constituted of 4 ga from the batt to the amp with a 150 amp fuse and no cap. I ran the same brand (directed) 4 ga to a bare metal chassis ground near the rear seat. I am not sure what the phase control on my amp does so I left it alone. Also how do I raise the tuning freq of my box? thanks.
