I am trying some new ideas and was wondering is anyone had good results with kappa perfects. I am considering running a pair of perfect 10.1D's or 10VDQ's on 2 MTX 8001's What do you guys think ?

I ran a pair and they got loud, but not spl loud. They are more of a sq sub. You can't send any more than about 400w to them, or they will start to bottom out at high volumes. You would be much better off starting with something a little more geared towards spl.

Back in the day I had a pair of Perfects in the Infinity-reccommended 1.75ft^3 ported enclosure. Running off a JBL 1200.1, it's probably the loudest setup I've ever had personally, but I never had it metered. Those subs consequently blew up because of a lack of a subsonic filter... At any rate, you could probably get more out of them if you played with box parameters and whatnot, but I don't think I'd ever try running an MTX 8001 per sub. That seems like suicide...

Perfects are an SQ sub solely. Don't try to use them for spl. They are great SQ subs and are good for bumpin' everyday but wont stand out against anything geared for spl. They are good subs though. But if you push 2 perfects with 2 MTX 8001's they will just BLOW UP in your face. Try something geared toward SPL like a couple of Premier TS-w2504spl 10's. They get loud and will handle the power.
