w7

I run a single 13 w7 with 1600 watts. Solid bass for a variety of music. Dual coils at 1.5 ohm each makes for a difficult choice for amps. Was using two kenwood ( one per coil). Now using fusion 1611D-it doesn't like the 3/4 ohm-gets warm. Now looking for a new amp .Using the sub in a sealed box-would probably get more output from ported. I enjoy the tightness of the sealed box
cheers

These are the vehicles that sound loud because the whole thing rattles and has poor sound dampening/deadening. My SUV is crazy loud (High 130s/Low 140s) but vey little of that nice transmits outside.

Out of curiosity, has anyone measured the output from a W7 in the HO Wedge?

Please keep this thread going! I'm looking at some 12w7's for my car and any input from owners/users would be awesome!

Some of the details i'm looking for:

1 sub or 2?
I'm looking to go with a sealed enclosure...#cu ft? How's the SQ?
Performance: If you could provide your overall opinion of these subs.
Also even some comparable alternatives would be awesome!

Used to have a pair of 13W7s. They replaced my DD9000 series after i sold them. Bought a pair of DDs a few weeks after.

Lots of subs out there better IMO, for the price and for the performance.

i have one 12" w6 man i will never buy anything but JL audio i love it, best bang for the buck IMO i have had sony's, PG's, Clarion's, and one or 2 others they all blew up and sucked this one sounds absolutley amazing. Its so tight on every beat.

Wish i could afford a w7 but i would need a new amp at the same time !

yup, everyday use of the W7 will make u deaf. Its mostly for SPL competitions and all. If ure gonna buy this sub to use it at half its capacity, don't bother; it will be a waste of money.

The W7 is NOT an SPL sub. It's an SQL sub that's designed to sound good and get reasonably loud doing it. In terms of SPL, it's not very competitive with many of the subs commonly used in dbdrag, iasca etc.
