Am I the only one who thinks that a leather interior would be louder then a cloth one?
Just looking for some thoughts and opinions. |

depends...what is leather? and how solid is it? loose stitched leather (back of seat) will flutter and deflect as cloth will allow pressure to pass through it...

I have never seen lose leather on a seat. But because leather doesn't breath like cloth I think it would be a better loading wall. Plus it is a whole lot smoother, equaling less air drag, and better velocities. Am I correct or just dreaming [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/boring.gif[/img]

sorry to burst your bubble but in most vehicles with a leather option it is only the seat fronts that are leather. the seat backs and sides and sometimes even the rear seats are a vinyl dyed to match the leather.

Im guessing it doesnt matter, if there is a difference then im guessing its a very small one.

i ws thinking about that too...in theory, it should be louder because it won't suck up the sound waves...but i don't know how much of a difference it would actually make...
...but i can remember there was this guy at world finals that tried to use plastic seats in his car - he was REALLY pissed when ray and the other judges dq'ed him for trying to use them. i guess they would have been pretty good at raising the spl... |
