nothing wrong with ring terminals if you use the proper ones and have them attached correctly.

infact a good ring terminal IMO is a better way to run into a distro than having the bare wire run into the distro bar with a set screw because this way you have your copper wire exposed somewhat to the air. Over time the shielding can pull back etc which will expose it more and more and with the moisture in the air can lead to oxidization in the wire and increasing resistance.

Where as if you used a copper lug that was silver soldered onto the wire itself you have a bond between the two which is impenetrable to air and water.

my favorite SPL sub is an RE MT ( yes i know thats so long ago but they still pound) and best daily sub is a mmats jugg they hit amazing lows and still punch in even very large enclosures... they even do well in SPL below 50Hz
