depends on your amp, most of the time u dont need those for pure spl

i dunno, i haven't had all of the experience but i would have to say that if you've got a little extra cash, a line driver can be a good investment. they can boost you voltage without having to worry about blowing your amps. if you get the right kind, they won't distort the signal too much.
i've got one now, and i don't think i'll be turning back.

for extreme's or SS vehciles a line dribvers is a MUST! the deck won't get enough signal to 8 or more amps! LOL.. just my $.02
