Loud Trunks
#541
Hey guys I been reading this post and its quite interesting. At the moment I am also trying to get a trunk car at least into the 50's. Last show i went to i hit a 144.6 in idbl and that was not sealed off, box all the way to the back of the trunk. I run a 6 inch slot port and box is tuned ruffly around 46hz as my car seems to respond to around 49hz. I am running this all in a 2003 cavalier z type. Any pointers or box ideas you may have would be greatly apreciated. I just 3 days ago tried sealing off my trunk and built a box with a 7 inch slow port as cant get my hands on any aero port.

wow terry thats crazy looking, my biggest draw back is my trunk is only 34 inchs wide, and getting a box in and outta there at 34 inchs wide near impossible.and coming from front is way smaller. Also i cant find any 8 inch pvc anywhere to make a port outta, and when it comes to wood work I am pretty useless as never done it and have no one to teach me a thing or to.

go to home depot and buy 8" diameter sonotube instead of PVC. cheaper to play with.
guys have used bellmouth ducting for port flares, not sure where the best place to buy is (online?).
with newer Cavaliers, alot of people cut out the triangular upper corners in the rear seat trunk opening so that they can fit in a wider rectangular box in from the front.

2. Convenience! I never imagined I could go grocery shopping and pick up my kids with a 156+ vehicle
3. security, having the loudest trunk vehicle on the planet smack in the middle of the ghetto and none of the local monkeys have the slightest clue, lol
