No offence ment here, but you're not into SPL, but you have a $600+ SPL meter and you have 4 runs of 1/0 welding cable??? Are you a welder then who just likes to have $600 paperweights? LOL Just kidding...

agreed.

what to do to set yourself apart from others.... example : the audiobahn demo vehicle a few years back...( and not just because I built it) the guy lived and breathed the product... demo the vehicle at shows and comps.. let ppl sit inside. and make it pretty not just a mdf and resin box with tuck tape

If you're a rep, I think you're also responsible for pushing and attemping to sell the product. A lot of people (that I talk to) don't need to know whether it is or isn't the best in its class. In actuality, a lot just want a working product they can rely on. Therefore, they need to be pushed just a little to choose your product over another.
I think being part of a manu's team would add this additional push.

Just because I have an amp hooked up and a sub in my trunk, I can't tell you the number of people that ask ME "Robert, what I should buy?" and want to buy audio equipment off of me.
Only because I'm the face to what they want but don't have. That's the only difference.

EDUCATION

teach ppl how to use the equipment that they make they have engineers that make 100k a year designing stuff ,well i want to talk to them !

i am so sick of uneducated ppl telling me that my ohms are off or this or that

when i call tech i want a smart **** not a guy that needs a job so he can get his drink and smoke on this weekend at the WOW lan party

come on are you serious man!

company's will not be able to design boxes so dont ask they dont have experience and your creativity is inspired by if fed by the annalizing of a particular situation or problem you will encounter in a car/box/wiring

yuli how many companys can design a rex box?
and out of them how many know dimensions of your car and can recite them in yoour sleep i know you can and do eat sleep and breathe spl i have seen you do stuff and it works sometimes when other people look at it and say nfw its not gonna work

that box you put on termpro the other day looked ridiculous but i bet it works and if you drew it up and didnt try it how would you ever know?
and out of those companys how many go to any shows ?

next how many cars can get the same equipment installed the same and have different results

i mean you and tom although not the same class you guys have diff results and for a reason your human and you are different ppl with diff cars

how many people on here can explain any t/s parameter other than an ohm?
and how can they be manipulated to make a better sub for your particular application?

why did rf and pioneer did so well in the past when they sponsored people they had engineers making multi mic setups measuring pressure gradients in the car and air eddys and such

they need test and tune weekends where everyone on the team is required to come! and participate !
teach professionalism sportsmanship and manors(that might be hard)

no partys w strippers in the room at finals you dont deserve that shiot if you cant prove your self

all team members will explain and help other teams or newbs at any show including finals leave your car open and let people look, now touching is another thing there is line not to cross

competing HARD is great and dont slack on your team to help another just be courteous and honest. although secrecy is what some people think is what keeps them on top. ITS NOT its newb kicking your ash and you have to upgrade to keep up

this is the EVIL BILL mindset and i know its tough so ill stop

psycho out!

to get sponcerd the guys or gals should already know the product well, if not already own it and compete with it. that at least shows a little dedication towards the product and competeing. i think going to see where the product is made would be a great treat to anyone on the team.

talking to an engineer is one thing or a tech support line... but talking to sumone who uses the product every day is way better. real world experience is key and from the looks of it yuli is the man for this so you do have that bang on.

its all about trying new things and encourageing people to be different. sure one type of box might work really well for most people but having the ideas of some new kind of box might be something that pushes someone into the "sponserable" catigory.

To talk to the engineers.... hope you speak taiwanese or chinese. Most compagnies out there don't design ****. Well maybe their logo and they "design" the marketing aspect.

Funny......... the list is always HUGE as to what the free-bie asking guy/girl WANTS............ but what are you willing to give up ?!!?!?

Here's something.......... if you're getting everything you want for free off your list, and you live in Ontario...... what happens if they ask you to represent in BC one weekend, then Quebec the following weekend and the whole summer goes on and on like that........... you have to be where they want you when they want you on your dime after they gave you thousands amd thousands of bucks in free stuff............ wears thin fast on the giving back part. I've known people that commit and can't handle it after a month or so of giving up their life and having to run around on someone else's schedule and needs. IT's no party.

It's easy to ask for free stuff, but what are you commiting to give back................ and how can that manufacturer or whatever be sure that you are commited and will not drop the ball.

A past track record of being involved with a manufacturer and building it up from a small start goes a long way to building a resume to show that you are trustworthy and not just some dick looking for a free ride. Getting free sh-t and going out on the road only where and when you want doesn't count towards a corporate commitment.
