2.5 cubes for a 18?

That sounds a touch low for a ported box...

U can also call RE Audio direct and let the tech support guy know your vehicle, application, resonant freq, woofer, power, etc and he can design a good box for your MT that'll hit your goal.

You never said you wanted spl that is a good daily box and I have messed with 18" MT'S

Do 4.5- 6 cubes at 43hz

You really dont know what to tune it to right now unless you know what your car/suv/truck peaks at.

I would try that in gross volume with port displacement and sub displacement. Lets start here what kind of car / truck do your drive ? do you want to go daily or for SPL because the box has a certain hight so you might want to see out the back window....we dont know so tell us more so we can give you a hand.
