I know that an Altima has a very big trunk space as it stands! So I don't see a problem getting a fairly good daily boomer in there I would get something like 2 12's in a nice tuned ported box with a good amp and don't forget the electrical, make sure its full length one size and preferably one chunk(I can't count how many times I have seen 2 or 3 wires linked together, and thats just asking for a spark show) and if your not going to do the install, get a reputable shop!! Just my 0.02

For sound proofing stuff I would go to ebay for that. For far they have the best prices. Just make sure they ship with usps if it's coming from the states.

for deadener i'd use eDead as its pretty cheap and i had good results with it personally.
as for a set up a nice 12" in a ported box will give ton's o bass. Something like a RE SX or XXX and an orion 1200d amp will suffice for the low end. as for mids-highs i'm a fan of focal's and in previous have used OZ audio as well with good SQ results.
there are MANY ways to accomplish what you want.

Actually, my price on BQuiet is quite cheap, cheaper than their own site for that matter. A single DD 12" in the proper slot port box, coupled with the right amplifier is going to lump all over a pair of rather basic 12's in the wrong generic box. A pair of respectable 12"'s in the proper sub box and the right amp would be another way to go as well. Do not go the generic sub box route UNLESS it is to get some sound for now while you are building the proper custom box for later. The box will make or break what is going to come out for bass response. $1000.00 buget, should be easy to do for you.
