Looks good

Thanks. It's still in the planning stages. Not sure how well they will hold up. So far so good. I guess I could always add some fiberglass mat if it needs more reinforcement. I bought another gallon of resin, so I've got LOTS! lol The 1" MDF is coming home tomorrow. Box is going to start @ 9cubes (after displacements) with the 12" port. It's going to start @ around 8.5 with the 14", then I can shrink it and change port lengths.

Still need to pickup some PCV for the inner rounded 45's. ;) It's going to be a LONG WEEKEND! LOTS of testing.

NICE Paul. Cant wait to hear this!

Don't make the box too wide, as narrow as possible if the port is firing back

DeadlySones 08-05-2010 08:20 PM

^^^ hmmmm, some interesting info... wonder how I can make that work for me. ;)

The port between the subs makes for a pretty wide box, and thats how I plan to play with the internal volume. Moving the port(s) in/out.

Father Yuli 08-05-2010 08:34 PM

Between the subs? The box should not need to be more than 35 wide.

DeadlySones 08-05-2010 08:38 PM

To avoid building 15 boxes, I planned to push the port in between the subs to remove internal space. Them big ass ports require my subs to be placed FAR apart. :dunno:

Something simple, port back subs up or to the sides. How much depth u have?

DeadlySones 08-05-2010 08:43 PM

In total, 48", lol. I plan on subs up, and port back.

My box was going to be 29D? I think 29D x 49W x 17H... I'd have to check... doesn't need to be that deep. Once I know what my peak enclosure volume/tuning will be, I'll just build a box specifically that size and play with more ports. ;) Then I can just put the whole port on the outside.

With the 14" port, I need a LONG port to tune to 35hz. (30in) So some of that HAS to go in the box, lol.

Don't do that. That's not a good way to optimize. U don't have to make 15 boxes. U can just cut one of the baffles off on like a table saw or something and make it substantially smaller if u wanted to in one shot.

If u think about it, doin it your way will only get u so far. There will be a point where ud have to cut the box to be physically smaller anyways.
