what if you made another port baffle thing... and used a shorter port so you can still switch them out? maybe the ports to close to the tail gate? try out your cone idea!!!!!!!!

DeadlySones 08-15-2010 11:20 AM

"Cone idea" would make it longer in theory... I need to shrink it to raise the tuning, but might as well shrink the interior first. It will affect the port length being cut anyway... I'm saving the "cone idea" for the end. SSSSSSHHHH! I've got a couple things up my sleeve for the haters... lol, not sure if they're going to gain, but is gonna look cool none-the-less.

The port/baffle is completely removable anyway. I can build anything off it or inside the box. :sly:

This was throw in, test right away. I'll improve on it. :smokin:

Keep up the hard work bro. And just waiting for an email back from that guy;)

Thanks man. I'm not done playing yet. Need to test more to understand what exactly is occurring and when. Man does it ever get low... for me though, 29hz is too low maybe if I had more power, but it hits too loooowwww. I can't move enough air.

Hope it's a go... you likely won't hear back from him till mid next week. :)

i would not go any lower then that. its good that your playin it low. Subs like it. and u do not need more power. the amp is actually producing less at this point. any more power and you could just f**k up the rubber rings. you gonna bottom out the sub with the xmax

DeadlySones 08-15-2010 11:50 AM

I'm going to tune higher (34ish). I didn't plan to go that low. Must be the damn noodles, lol. :sly: I think the box is a little too large (8.6cuft) also.

XquisitesoundZ 08-15-2010 11:56 AM

Damn noodles lol.

36hz is working for me well. flex like a mofo

DeadlySones 08-15-2010 12:51 PM

35hz should be close to a flat tuning response for tf ones in the right sized enclosure. I wanted to go big first and shrink it.

I just went out and tested, they only do the funny movement thing after reaching Xmax (or close to it), so I think my box is a little too big. I'm going to shrink it first then play with the port. 29hz tuning isn't great for a sub with an FS of 38hz. lol

I'll keep playing with it. It's got lots of potential. Need to do something with the tail gate...

JDN1014 08-15-2010 01:01 PM

when i was running my DDs i had no problems with tunning them to 29hz

is there any adjustment on the tail gate?
