Tune it to 42hz, that way it will still play music on the street, as well as pull a decent SPL score (for the quality of the equipment you are using). You should be in the 140's with ease!

I'd agree, that box is a bit big, maybe go with MTX's specs on the box if your not planing on doing big numbers

for SPL, go with something like 2.25 cubes and tune it accordingly to what the car peaks at.
Or 42hz as I recomended above-that would be an Ideal starting point.

my kicker L5 12" in the kicker made prefab is 3.5ft3 net so i think that i am gonna try 3.68ft3 net and do some testing with the mtx i will be using my kicker for daily driving and then put the MTX in for SPL comps so i dont care musicly what it sounds like as long as it farts loud

why would you even bother asking for advice if you're gonna do what you plan to anyways

pretty much everyone agrees that the box size is too big and you still insist on a using manuf. spec

now, ATOMIC Caravan gave a good suggestion... start with a 2.25ft3 box and just play with port tuning. In spl, bigger does always mean louder, other factors also come to play and with the power that was suggested on using, then a smaller box would get you where you want

anything over 2.5 cubes for a single sub is too big!
