New System - New to the forum

Hey guys! New to the forum, should be a regular.

Wanted to hear your thoughts on a few things. I just purchased a combination of a few things. It was a great price for the full set, but I am considering selling some of it off.

Here is my current system.
Alpine CDE-9852 Head Unit
Alpine Type S two ways in the front and back. Deck Powered. (5/7s and the 2.5")
Rockford Fosgate 360.2 powering
2 12" Older Kenwood subs - around 200RMS can't remember exact model atm. Bought em used.

I have purchased a combo that comes with a Rockford 801s and 2 Rockford Punch 10" Stage 3 subs. Comes with cap etc, anyways... I have heard mixed about the subs. No doubt they will pound harder and sound better than my current setup.

Think I should sell the subs (They are brand new) and buy a different set of 12s? Or keep the 10s. I don't have a lot of cash to work with atm.

Any suggestions at all would be a great help.
Thanks!

If those are actually T3 RF 10s, they PWN the Kenwoods... There is no comparison..

hey man... sorry about not getting a reply, I didn't even notice the thread...

anyways... since you're in the SPL section I have to ask... do you plan on competing with this sytem?

If not then I would just keep which ever system sounds the best to you and sell the rest.

My 'daily driving' system would have been considered a joke by competition standars, but it did what I needed and that's all that matters!

Should have have been clearer, was rushing at work when I typed it out. They are the 10" P3 subs, I am sure they will sound better than the Kenwoods. If there is a small town competition in the area I may bring it out, but I am doing it mostly for myself, I enjoy loud and clear systems, but I do like a good thump.

I think I will probably try them out and see, worst case scenario I sell the 10s and buy some newer high end 12s.

Theboy is from Chetwynd, how many years ago, how old? May know ya!

Build yer box! Buying boxes is the easy way out. And sunbirds don't have flip down seats do they? That stinks. I about bout one until I found that out. I have seen the port go from the trunk into the cabin and to me it sounds like a great idea but I am not totally positive on that one.

Welcome to the Greatest Car Audio Forum in existance...

I would recommend you build your own box. Go for a sealed box though, because 10" subs sound great in sealed boxes, and because they don't move as much air as 12"s and 15"s... Nice system btw, you should enjoy it when you get everything in.

I was never much of a fan of 10"s before. I think these will sound great though. You suggest a sealed box eh? I keep having people tell me to go for vented and tuned at 40hz. Any more thoughts out there?
