One 12 vs two 10's

For SPL what would be better, one 12 or two 10's?
Any help would be great.

2 10s

1 12 = approx 113 square inches
2 10 = 157 square inches

obviously with 2 10s more power will be needed though ;p

a 3512 will go louder than a 144.. u just need to put more power to it and keep working on boxes. I know lessy did like a 150.5 or so with a single MT 12, in a trunker no less, so it is possible.

my goal for this season is to break a 145
If I get my 3512 within the next 500 years and my new amp I wanna be doin 146.5-147
