Will it be loud? I'm betting on it.

Still needs work but the design is done. I have to fill the 2 rear corners.
4 cubes with displacement tuned to 53Hz (Res frequency of my car...95 VW GTI Hatchback)

I will be using 2 RE 10SX (From Audio Options of Canada) and not sure on power yet.

Looking good, I have plans for a box similar to that, some day.

nice ... that port looks like it might tune you quite low compared to enclosure size... but looks can be deceiving.
how big is the port?

port is 5"x6.5"x12.5"

that bend (if it was a complete circle) would be 27". So half the volume of a 27"x12.5"x.125" circle would be 2.24^ft and the square portion of the box, 15.5x29x14=2.78^ft added together minus displacement comes out to be 4.5 cubes which puts the tuning at around 53Hz.

Maybe leave the port as is for now, test, then chop it off and see if it yields a gain rather than just cutting it now.

Dan how do u know your car will peak at 53hz? I would not rely on other guys with same car even. My 2001 jeep peaked at 48hz but the SAME JEEP only a 2004 model peaked at 52hz. Boxes that were loud in the older one sucked veeeeeeeery bad in the newer one.

another thing, if your car does peak at 53hz u should probably tune alot lower, like 45hz maybe or less. most hatch boxes should be tuned 7-10hz lower than the car's peak, that is the starting point anyways. So if i was you i would make the port longer instead of shorter.

once u get subs/amp bring it over to Chris' place and we can figure it all out.
