Hey GrizZz,

My name is Bob Beaton and I live down here in Lethbridge. I own Stay Tuned Installations and have done almost 15 walled vehicles in the last 10 years and it might be worth your time to call. I have been to both IASCA and DB DRAG finals before and I have a very good grasp of how a real wall works. I'm in the phone book for Lethbridge & area. If you maybe just want some advice, consider talking to TEAM RIP ROCK and or RAY at FX Audio (Edmonton). You probably should go with more or bigger subs, but I have done a wall with 2 - 12's before. Good Luck.

Hmmm... so I was just gonna slap up a wall and stick my SPL box (tuned to 44ish with SQ plug removed, 33ish plugged) in it... Sub on passenger side, port on driver's side. I suppose there's enough room that I could offset it even, sub on passenger, port kinda in the middle, or just left of middle...

But after looking around a bit, reading a bit, etc... It looks like this would be best to tune to a specific freq/point for optimum SPL.

So if I run out to the van eith a tape measure, and take a few measurements, like wall to windshield, door to door, wall to dash, wall to firewall, floor to roof, etc.... So that we get all those distances and can compute how many cubic feet the cabin of the van will be, is there someway I can compute/figure out what freq/specs I should mount a box up with?

Or should I go with plan "A", slap my 44 box up on the wall, and hope for the best?

Hey, we all gotta start somewhere eh...

I hacked a removable wall for this season. Jumped 6-7 dB already without tuning or testing!

Next year however the whole back end is coming out and a BIG ol wall is being poped in! It's not too hard.

a single 12" with 2000 watts will easily hit 150dB on TL if put into a good efficient enclosure

btw... Grizzz what van do you have ..maybe I can help a little

'95 Astro Commercial...

2 buckets up front, fold down rear seat over the amps, minor sound deadening on vehicle skin, but not the structural steel.
