ya so I did some digging cause the gent that owns the purple neon won 1st in his class and the 2nd place finisher hit a 136.4db and the owner of said neon told me he hit 143.6 which was just confirmed by two people that were there also so my previous posts have been changed to reflect this.

DB Drag Racing and Drag Racing have 2 things in common -
Drag Racing - 1/4 time is lower the day after
DB Drag Racing - SPL score is higher the day after..

I know a TL was used this year and not the AC Mic.. hopefully it was done in a competition format and not a testing format - then all scores would be available to post.

All in All regardless of scores Eric and his crew at Redball always host a nice show.

Your Score of 140+ your first time out is awesome.

dude clearly u aren't out much to see any boxes built around here because josh chatten one of the guys that ran the comp won first place in street B at lcs3 this year so clearly ur not the ONLY guy that knows how to build a box hows that huge prolly a 5.5 cu ft box running that one 12' mxs on the floor at futurshop you build that one too ...also we have seen the sheet plus i was standing right there watching we wanted to c what he would hit after he bragged to josh he hit a 160 at his shop with two p2's... he ended up hitting a high score of 140.1 not a 143.6 so i would like to see where you are getting that from yes he may have came first congrats but he clearly likes to lie because he bragged he hit a 160 at futureshop...also our box was not built to spec and had two round plastic ports took us all of 10 min to throw it in my trunk and still hit a 142...if you read my previous post u would have seen i said the 9500's were in there custom boxs by that i meant the boxes that were made by mtx for the 9500's and he was running one planet audio amp forget the model but he has two of them one per sub but he only had the one for the comp.

well we have to assume he doesnt know everything there is to know about stereo comps here right that box hit 142-144db on our meter Audiocontrol spl190 and at the port it was measuring 157db yes I know we dont measure at the port but we were screwing around and thats what he was prolly going by not his fault I should have explained it to him. So 140.1db for 2 P2's and a 600wrms amp is not so bad eh when you said he did a 136db I guess you lie just as much as him....lol....

Oh and that box took me half a day to build 4-5hrs thats including installing the amp and tuning it I'm not one to skimp on cosmetics for SPL. Not my fault you guys had a just thrown together box 142db with those subs and that amp you have is not that high but granted it was the first attempt .

The guy with the 9500's is Matt and that huge box on our floor with the MXS in it was his he did a 146db with one 9500 and that planet audio amp at red ***** comp last year in a bigger car too.

We all build good boxes for our self but I mean the ones I see built for customers comming from other shops and pics floating around on the net on different sites just look like crap not one custom box leaves my bay if I wouldnt put it in my car.

160 at the port is obtainable.. i have seen regular manufactured boxes achieve this high at the port during port wars.

160 at the dash with a street vehicle is out of reach for pretty well most of us.

the reason i never said what he hit first run was because i wasn't sure weither it was 139 or 140 but after confirming with josh the one who ran the competition thats when i stated he hit a 140 which is good with two p2's but it sucks he couldn't get close the second run he hit a 136 which i remember exactly coz i was standing right beside the screen and a few people were pissed coz he reved his engine so high we were mad he was prolly messing up the mic but i didn't care coz i was in B+ and he wasn't so it didn't affect me

also yes i c you were using a different mic than redball was because redball had termlab mic

well when you say other shops we have to assume you mean redball and sound concepts because unique sound hasn't yet made a custom box we don't have the table saw in the shop yet or have we had one person come in that wants a custom box built from there because the way i took what u said was no one around here can build a box besides futureshop and basically its because like i said josh chatten has a custom box and won first at LCS3 this year and he works at redball

yes there is shitty boxes out there and there is TONS AND TONS of systems sitting in bassworx and slammer hammer boxes they just buy them throw there subs in and call it a day

ya the charging system in that neon has some issues it is only charging at 13.5v instead of 14.5v and it was like that B4 the competition which really sucks cause when we were running it on our battery charger at 14.5v the car was 2db louder then when it was running off the car but what system doesnt have its issues right?. I think the second run the voltage was droping huge and he got excited and reved the **** out of it.

Reving the engine shouldnt effect a TL pad cause it measures pressure not volume like a mic on the audiocontrol.

I never ment no one can build a custom box except for us I ment I do not see any one else doing it except for us and the ones I do see are half assed and again I mean in customers cars not employee's cars.

What is Josh running in his car amp and sub wise?

We have a little trick we can do to bassworx boxes to make them preform

well i am pretty sure they were using Yuli's old DD amp and DD sub but they hit a 144 i think last weekend....i think that amp put out liek 3000wrms don't hold me to that i am not 100% positive but it is a huge amp...i think the sub is the 9600 series not positive again ...bu the results are on the website somewhere where it says that josh won first at LCS3

see 144db using SPL desiged equiptment does not seem high to me at all but I have been out of the SPL loop for a while.

are you sure about the neon's scores cause I just talked with another guy who was there who you know as well who said his first run was a high 143 and the second was a 141ish.

i know he hit a 136 second run hands down no question about it i remember exactly the first run i am going by what josh said but i am almost positive he didn't beat me but if we can get the sheet and find out we will know for sure i will check with josh and c maybe they still have them but w/e theres not point in arguing about it all week lol we will just have to run his car again when redball gets the thursday night rumble up and going again...also there was alot of low numbers that day it was very very hot and amps and were over heating i know my 7801 went into thermal after my first run and was way to hot to even touch
