i think that if you are doing an spl setup then you dont need to worry about fabric. if you are doing an sq then do what matches unless you are seriously thinking aobut do sq.
and doing it yourself. we do what is easier and what you know cause it looks like ____ when you dont do it right.

I would suggest going to audioshow like DB drag & seeing what there doing, and ask people there questions. every1 has there own ways on making boxes & designs for ports.
some people use Braces, they resin there boxes (so no sound leaks)
angles in the box being formed to perfection & this could go on forever in detail

you can always go into one of the 3 spl shops in BC.
there are only 3 of them and one of them is right here in lower mainland. victoria and cranbrook are the others.

if not ab is the next province to have spl specific shops.
