some more amplifier tests
#1
ok here it is... more usefull info for guys in super street classes that like running 12 volts systems
power supply used was 6 - 1200 cold crankin amp deep cycle batteries charged by my 50 amp charger
starting voltage was 15 volts, 30 min brak betweet burps
reactive load of 0.5 ohms was created using 4 - Audiobahn AW1200Q subbs all wired in parallel
frequency used was 67 Hz
these are best results after matching the amp gain to the decks output
Lightning Audio 2000.1 --- burped
test 1 51.6Volts 56.1Amps =2894.76 watts 153.34db
test 2 51.7VOlts 56.0Amps =2895.20 watts 153.34db
American Bass 200.1 ---burped
test 1 55.8Volts 64.1Amps =3576.78watts 153.8db
after doing more testing with volume found that the lower volume worked better even though the power output was lower it measured higher
test 2 54.4Volts 60.5Amps =3291.20watts 154.02db
Mmats 3000.1---couldn't burp...rolled in with volume
test 1 53.5Volts 55.0Amps =2942.50watts 153.5db hehehe forgot to match the gains and topped out with volume
test 2 61.0Volts 63.2Amps =3855.20watts 154.4db
this test was done withinh 5 minutes of test 1
test 3 60.6Volts 64.8Amps =3926.88watts 154.54db
hoping this helps you guys out a bit... all the amps are fairly close in pricing
from what I know is the Lightning Audio and American Bass amps are non regulated and will increase in output with increased voltage...the Mmats is regulated and IF I remember correctly should go into protection after 16 volts

these tests are really good. god knows that the manufacturers don't publish the real numbers that we'd like to see on the boxes. but when you put them in real life situations, and compare them head to head it gives you a better idea of how honest the companies really are...*cough* SONY *cough*.

the Lightning and American bass are strapable..the Mmats is not..but Im sure that I could MAKE it strapable as it is a mono block amp...a bit of wiring and I could do it... just need another Mmats 3000.1 to do it externally where the others are already setup for it
