and Lessy...if you bring it down I can test it...
I only have the ability to test at 0.5 ohms in this set up at the moment

hey MTA.. if the mmats can be strapped, i would be interested ina pair.,. but would it be dbdrag legal to do that, as they were not ment to be strapped in the first place? also i heard they are very picky with voltage drops?

yes the MMATS 3000.1 is no more a monoblock than a earthquake D2 or D3 is...they have two channels internally that are bridged and therefore cannot be strapped. If it was a strappable amp trust me MMATS would not be keeping it on the downlow

NorthernSPL ...cool..Ill see if I can get some lower loads for it to do some testing
did you get any testing done yet??? need to know results

good tests though

the DC resistance measured was 0.5 ohms
in most tests the impedance did not rise over 1
ohm
"American Bass 200.1 ---burped
test 1 55.8Volts 64.1Amps =3576.78watts 153.8db
after doing more testing with volume found that the lower volume worked better even though the power output was lower it measured higher
test 2 54.4Volts 60.5Amps =3291.20watts 154.02db"
Yeah i did also notice this in the short amount of time that I played with a few (8) of them. At finals with Chris' van Corey from Superior Sounds showed me the "prime" input voltage to run them at, anything more or less and you get nothing compared to when you have it right on. Chris Cecco will know forsure but what I remember was volume 17 on an Alpine 9815 was the volume and then you turned the gain on the amp up until you hit a certain output voltage and that is the perfect spot for them. I just cant remember what it was. That could be the reason for your findings, maybe the output was over that voltage and as you turned the volume down sure the power went away but the power was cleaner and more usable??? I am just speculating but ask Chris for what the voltage is and I think you will see even more results from the VFL 200.1.

I was planning on running more tests with it this week including running them down a bit lower, maybe down to 0.4 or 0.33 ohms as I just remembered that I do have 4 more of the same drivers at the shop...but im not sure I will get accurate results as my box only holds 4 woofers.
I will also try to write down RCA voltage input into the amplifier for each one..and if I can do a little a$$ kissing maybe Mr.Lambert could bring over some of his 8volt batteries to run the amps at 16 volts and get those results up also
