I did figure that in the design process, the "paper tuning" is pretty high on the box but drops in the vehicle - but I am sure there is still more room for improving the specifics of it as this is only the second enclosure I've build for my Jeep

Sorry that I didn't explain that - they are voltage step-ups to charge my 16v bank from my 12v system.

If I was to make an uneducated guess I would say the kerf post doesn't do for the sound, but rather let's the air travel smoother. A square port sounds just as good, its cosmetic for daily driver. Looks good man. What frequency you burping at? Solid numbers

I did it for air flow

50 Hz is the peak / burp frequency of the Jeep.

That's a decent frequency. Mine doesn't burp that high mid 40's it a neon though. You gonna try cuttin port wall down?

Wel if the Kerf port helps air flow it will help spl then so it is a good idea.

I may try cutting it a bit later on if I quit gaining otherwise - at the current time I still think I have more in it with some other tweaks. My Jeep has zero sound deadening work - and looks like it is going to explode when I burp it, so that is on the to-do list.

I stuck another box in it early on from a different vehicle tuned to the 30s and it still peaked @ 50 Hz so I think I do have that dead on. The box tuning on paper is right at 50 Hz counting 1/2 port width loading up the back wall and 1/2 port width loading along the floor.

In order to get the loudest position in the vehicle I slid it forward and backward before building my amp rack - this box liked to be close to the hatch for the loudest score. As was mentioned prior this takes down the "real" tuning a bit by loading up the hatch as well - but it was the loudest position.

I may also re-build the amp rack and make a new box just like this but bigger - my single 15" box was 3.5 cubes and this one is only 5 cubes for two, so I think I could gain quite a bit of efficiency making the box larger. The only way I can do that is to make it deeper towards the front.
