Hey Guys. My girlfriend wants to compete in the Street Class. 1-12" or 2-10" or 3-8" subs. We are looking at the folllowing subs.
2-10" PG Tantrum X in Bandpass
2-10" L5 Square Kickers in Ported
1-12 Polk MOMO in Bandpass
I'll be using either a PG ZX500amp(600w/rms) or RF 401S(400w/rms)
What do you guys reccommend? Any other suggestions???

I wouldnt go with either one of those. u want good SPL subs be ready to dish out some loot. your cheapest option is kicker L7 10's. get a pair of dual 2 and run them off an Earthquake PHD2 amp at 0.5 ohm.
honestly brother I wouldn try competing with the amps u have listed they would not give power u would need to win or even qualify at big shows. Im not tryint to cut u up or anyting at all, but u would need roughly 1500 watts rms or more to do anything in that street class. alot of ppl get an impression that street class is for begginers.....that is very wrong however, Db Drag has no class for begginers, in the street class u are talking about many people run 3000+ rms watts. Im in street C class and i run 12,000rms.
if you are seriouse about competing drop me a PM with more info on what car u gonna use and what's your budget. i will try to stear u on the right path. good luck.

What is your budget? For around $700 you can get a street a or b setup that will dominate locally.
This can get you around 2000 watts and either a pair of ok subs or one good one.
The L5 will be the only subs out of the ones you listed that will even get mid-placing in a competition.

I would just wait and save up for 1 good amp, and either 2 good 10s, or 1 amazing 12... Build an amazing slot ported box... Then you will NEED a new battery and a new alternator, I would suggest (since your on a budge), PM Loud Brown Kicker Colt as he builds 200a alts, but at 2000 rpm can easily put ou 300a... He builds them strong and yet affordable! Then you want to get some 0/1awg wire, this is what I am doing, just sharing what I am planning doing. And possably sounddeaden your gf's car, becouse its a daily driver by the sounds of it... I am sure this is just BASIC, as others on here will lead you in the right direction for sure, and give you better advice then me.
Awsome, and good luck man.

^^ Dude what are you talking about?
He said he's going into street and doesn't want too spend too much.
Why would he need a custom built 200a alternator when he's going to be burping with the car off anyway?
Do what tinted said, get a couple of L7's and burp then off a d2 at .5 ohm. Should be pretty loud, and not too expensive either.
