Sub Compairson, Kicker / RE Audio

Hey Guys,

I'm a long time reader of the site, first time poster. I currently have 2 Kicker L7 12" subs in a vented box pushed by a MTX 1501D amp. The setup is in a 2000 Monte Carlo SS. On the Term Lab meters (I think Yuli's) measured 143.1 after a couple of runs.

My question, I was thinking about going into 2 RE Audio XXX's or even the new MX's. Provided I would change amps to something bigger (ie. US Amps DE-3000). Can I expect a huge gain in db's?

Thanks

the gain would come from the bigger amp, not the subs.

Thanks for the input. After some consideration I've decided to go with DD 9512, just deciding on 1 or 2.. looking mto hit that golden 150db mark.

its not that easy. even with 2 9512's and de3000 you'd be around 145 mark tops with the present box and electrical.
