Definitely. The MT is RE's flagship SPL machine, wheareas the XXX is their top of the line SQ-geared woofer.

is the mt too new for them to give box specs and such?

No, there are just too many different possible configurations for the woofers (spiders, coils, etc.) to give a generic list of parameters for. Box-wise I guess they just assume that since the consumer will be most likely using it in an SPL setup, there really won't be a magical optimal size.

You don't need to change subs to hit a higher spl number, just a different box and amp. I have hit 147.9 with 2 kicker L7,s. You will need a bigger amp to do it. I have being installing about 16 years now and kicker sub kill if there set up right. A friend of mine also hit 147.7 with his 2 L7 12,s. He was running 2 kicker kx1200,s linked. With this kind of power you must be careful with bass discs. But with normal music they can play all day.

Keep in mind he is running a trunk car which the seats most likely do not flip down

a guy at a cambridge comp last year in a blue neon hit like 157 with 2 12" kicker L7's and a hifonics(not sure the model) amp, yuli was at this show so he should remember the car ..but...that was with the iasca mic not the TL

^^i think steve(blue neon) was only hitting 144-145 on the TL, and he was running the Hifonics BXI2000D...his stuff is currently in a durango with a new box hitting 145-146 i htink on a TL
