Cool Sub Positioning Question For A DB Mic

Couple of questions all relating to being mic'd up for a DB Drag ...

Are there any rules to stop a competitor from pretty much running their system, as close to the mic as possible?

Wouldn't there potentially be less of a system needed if it's sitting in my backseat, as opposed to my trunk?
What's to stop me from wiring a subwoofer in a box and having it sit in my passenger seat? Wouldn't that get HIGH numbers since the mic is RIGHT THERE???

Or am I missing something?

Well i no as far as IASCA IDBL everything has to be behind the "B" pillar so the front seat wouldnt fly at all and im almost certin that db drag is the same as for position in the trunk and behind the B piller it depends what kind of car,box and port you have oh ya and has to be fastened into the car for saftey resons

I'd like to put 1 12" Subwoofer, in a ported box and sit it on my front seat ... then point the point towards my windshield.

Maybe that will increase my SPL score

go to Termpro, db drag racing, spl meter, spl car audio, loudspeaker systems, wayne harris and read the rules... there is no class that you are allowed to put your subs infront of the b-pillar (on the front seat) besides putting your box on the front seat isnt going to help your score like you think it is.... go on the dbdrag site and read the forum and learn.... and in due time you will look back at this post and realize how stupid this idea really is.... im not knocking you but once you learn how spl actually works you will understand where im coming from, good luck!

there is a ruling on it for bassrace... any dbdrag event hosted by a 2x or 3x judge will not permit you to have a sub on the seat near the mic or a port going directly onto the mic... there was a big thread on termpro about it and it was agreed upon that you cant do that
