Had an absolutely terrible day of testing yesterday, wondering if some of you could possibly provide some insight as to why I had such troubles. I started off with my usual setup, 2 L5 12s and 1 Crossfire VR2000D, running at 1 ohm. 151.6 on my mic, consistently. OK, that's normal, so, I decided I'd try 2 Riprock Hardcores, rather than 1 Crossfire. Run each Riprock at 2 ohm (I know they should be run lower, but still rated at 2k at 2 ohm, right?) off of one battery, should be stomping all over the single Crossfire, even if they are not at the lowest ohm loads possible. Put them in, hooked everything up, needed to turn the gains up quite high to get any output from them. My deck, a Pioneer DEH-P4600 the volume goes up to 62, I'd like to burp at low-mid 50s volume. I ended up having to turn the gains ALL the way up to be able to get full output at 53-54 volume. Now, what really bugs me, is that I somewhere LOST 0.2-0.4 dB by switching to 2 amps. No matter what I tried, I still could not get the 151.6 back. Now one would think, with 2 amps even if ran at 2 ohm they should be louder even by a bit, but no. Voltage dropped to around 11.4-11.6v on burps. Tomorrow evening I am going to upgrade my battery ground, as well as my trunk ground and go to slightly larger wire to one of the amps (one is 2/0 now, the other will be upgraded to 2/0 tomorrow.) But it just bothers me and I can't see the Riprocks being quieter than my single Crossfire, any ideas?

Borrowed 2 for a few months. I find it hard to believe they lack that much only running at 2 ohms, but maybe this is the case.

How did you split the signal from the HU to the amp?

If you just used Y splitters then you are cutting your input voltage from the HU in 1/2

^ not sure if I agree with that... voltage should stay the same with 2x the signal current from the HU...

That is in theory at least... maybe the HU's RCA outputs can't handle the load from the two amps...

I just ran my RCAs to one amp's input, and from its output to the other's input, maybe I'll try my RCA Y connects I have and see if it makes any difference. Thanks.
